The Buddhist Lent day 2016

Buddhist Lent or Rains Retreat is the annual three lunar month retreat observed by Theravada practitioners, usually from July to September. Monks remain inside monasteries and temple grounds to intensive meditation and to deepen understand the Dhamma, also to avoid step on villagers ‘ plants; therefore, before the Lent day Buddhist will traditionally offer candles or light bulbs to the monk to use during this period.
